Modeling and Simulation Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for team players who can understand customer requirements and develop, reverse engineer, verify and validate plant and controller models as well as develop tools and processes for model based engineering activities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Interaction with customers

  • Understanding the physics behind the engineering systems

  • Developing mathematical models that represent the physics

  • Implementing the mathematical models in a suitable numerical analysis software

  • Developing control strategies and implementing them in appropriate software

  • Reverse engineer controller models for legacy code

  • Verifying and validating plant and controller models

  • Developing tools and processes that enable and support Model Based Engineering activities

Desired Profile

  • Any degree in engineering / basic sciences / mathematics, postgraduate qualifications preferred.

  • 3-4 years of work experience preferably in engineering analysis or research

  • A strong mathematical and analytical background

  • Passion for modeling physical systems

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills in a dynamic teamwork environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Technical Skills

  • Expertise in atleast one of Mechanics, Hydraulics, Numerical methods, Matlab, Simulink

  • Good Knowledge of Heat Transfer, Thermodynamics, Chemical Kinetics

  • Stateflow, Dymola, Maple, dSpace, RT-LAB, Python

Experience

  • Minimum 3-4 years

Education

  • Any degree in engineering / basic sciences / mathematics. Postgraduate qualifications preferred.

Location

  • Chennai

Candidate must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process
