Software Engineer

An emerging area within the company is the development of several engineering software products that help facilitate and automate industry processes.  As a result, we have multiple open positions in the area of Software Engineering.

We are seeking passionate, self-motivated candidates for our Plymouth office.  Emmeskay has an established corporate culture of innovation, exploration and team work.  Employees are given considerable freedom in the tools and technologies they employ and we encourage "out of the box" thinking.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Quickly prototype "proof of concept" projects through interactions with subject matter experts.
  • Evaluate new tools and technologies and make recommendations based on their applicability.
  • Interface with production team to transfer new ideas for development.
  • Evaluate quality of developers' work products through inspection and testing.
  • Interact with customers to provide support.
Candidate Qualifications and Job Requirements:
  • B.S. / M.S. in engineering or computer science.
  • Familiarity with some of the following technologies would be considered a plus:
  • Programming languages (C, C++, Java, etc.)
  • Version control systems - CVS, SVN or Clearcase
  • Scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Python, etc.)
  • Open source tools (e.g. Linux, Apache, Eclipse, Firefox, etc)
  • Web / html, XML, JavaScript
  • Build process tools (e.g., ANT)
  • Testing framework and tools (e.g., JUnit, LoadRunner, etc.)
  • Relational database management system
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multitask
