Under the HoodEngines

Emmeskay has expertise in both "design-oriented" and "controls-oriented" perspectives of engines and the related accessories.  Our experience spans the intake and exhaust manifold dynamics, variable valve timing, engine thermal behavior, and tools for dynamic optimization of the engine parameters for various operating points. Spark Ignition, Compression Ignition, Direct Injection Spark Ignition engines are among our repertoire.

Fuel Cells

Emmeskay has several successful projects to its credit in different kinds of fuel cells for both stationary as well as mobile applications. We have worked on the technology and control strategies for applications ranging from air and fuel delivery all the way to power generation. We have expertise in reformer technology as well.

Emmeskay has developed a PEM fuel cell model on the Simulink® platform that is available for sale.

Transmissions

We have worked extensively with manual, automatic, continuously variable and split-path transmissions. Emmeskay has executed detailed analysis, performance optimization studies and control system development projects on various transmission choices. The type of  model depends on the application of the model and can vary from data driven black box models to physics based equations driven white box models.

Hardware in the LoopBattery

Emmeskay has developed models for various types of automotive batteries both for low voltage and high voltage applications.

Sensors and Actuators

Emmeskay has modeled the various sensor and actuator dynamics. These models are typically control oriented models and can be used for control strategy development as well as for verification and validation of the control unit. Various fault modes and error sources are also modeled for these sensors and actuators. Please click here to read about the off the shelf sensor and actuator models that are suitable for control strategy development and validation.

Chassis

Some of our consulting assignments included modeling of the chassis components for active suspensions, for Anti-skid Braking Systems and for studying the interaction between power-train and chassis components for drivability analysis.

Hybrid Vehicles

Emmeskay has experience in working with parallel, series and split-path hybrid drive-trains. We have expertise in modeling of motors and batteries for hybrid electric vehicles and fuel-cell based vehicles.
