mTm is the next generation version of our popular Model Instrumentation Manager adding two more capabilities – actuation and calibration and a lot more features. Modelers can now instrument from a variety of sources, identify the parameters that can be tuned during run-time and check the behaviour of the model without causing any permanent changes to the model.
mTm is a software toolbox for MATLAB® that helps you manage the instrumentation of models in Simulink® and Stateflow®. You can instrument the models with a variety of familiar standard Simulink® sources and sinks such as Constants, Sine Wave, White Noise, Repeating Signal, Scopes, ToWorkspace blocks and Displays through a user-friendly Graphical User Interface (GUI).
Once you assemble the instrumentation list interactively using the mTm GUI, the particular instrumentation configuration can be saved. This saved instrumentation can be retrieved and applied on the model later to re-create the configuration. The instrument information is maintained independent of the model. Hence, the underlying model and associated component libraries are uncorrupted. Numerous scenario-specific instrumentations can be interactively developed and applied on the same model.
Using the Calibration Module, you can select and modify the parameters that can be tuned when the model is being simulated during run-time to check the effect on relevant signals.
- mTm can significantly reduce the time it takes to setup and cleanup the model during debugging. You can benefit from reduced simulation times because mTm avoids model "over-instrumentation".
- mTm tool automation eliminates human errors that can be introduced while clearing the debugging instruments in the model. This greatly enhances the quality of the book-shelved models.
